Can’t connect Meta to Marketer?

Last updated: December 22, 2025

If you’re unable to connect Meta to Marketer, the issue is almost always caused by missing access permissions in Meta Business Portfolio.

To connect successfully, you must have full access to:

  • The Meta Ad Account

  • The Facebook Page

  • The Dataset (Pixel)

If any of these are missing or restricted, the connection will fail.

Required access (before you start)

Make sure your user has full control of the following assets inside Meta Business Portfolio:

  • Ad Account → Full access

  • Facebook Page → Full control

  • Dataset (Pixel) → Full access

Partial access is not sufficient.

Facebook Page can’t be selected

If your Facebook Page does not appear during connection, you likely don’t have full control of the Page.

How to grant full access to a Facebook Page

  1. Go to Meta Business Suite

  2. Open Business Settings

  3. Go to Accounts → Pages

  4. Select the Page

  5. Under People, find your name

  6. Ensure Full control is enabled

    • If not, add yourself and grant full control

  7. Save changes

  8. Retry connecting Meta to Marketer

If the Page is restricted or blocked

  • Check Meta Account Quality for restriction notices

  • If restricted, you must resolve this with Meta Support

  • If unresolved, create a new Facebook Page and use that Page for advertising

Ad Account can’t be selected

If the Ad Account does not appear, you do not have sufficient access.

How to check Ad Account access

  1. Go to Business Settings

  2. Navigate to Accounts → Ad Accounts

  3. Select the Ad Account

  4. Under People, confirm your user has Full access

If not:

  • Add yourself

  • Grant Full access

  • Save changes

  • Retry the connection

Dataset (Pixel) can’t be selected

If the Dataset is missing, it is usually not assigned to the Business Portfolio or your user lacks access.

How to grant Dataset access

  1. Go to Business Settings

  2. Navigate to Data Sources → Datasets

  3. Select the Dataset

  4. Go to People

  5. Ensure your user has Full access

  6. Save changes

  7. Retry connecting Meta to Marketer

Note:
If the Dataset was created recently, Meta may delay sharing availability. This usually resolves automatically after some traffic or ad activity.

Final checklist

Before reconnecting, confirm:

  • You have full access to the Ad Account

  • You have full control of the Facebook Page

  • You have full access to the Dataset (Pixel)

  • There are no restrictions in Meta Account Quality

Once all requirements are met, reconnect Meta in Marketer.

Still not working?

If everything above is correct and the connection still fails:

  • Wait a short period and retry

  • Contact Meta Support if assets are restricted
