How to manage your Shopify inventory
Why Managing Inventory in Shopify is Important for Marketer
Keeping your inventory up to date in Shopify ensures that your products appear correctly in the Marketer app and are eligible for ads. If inventory isn’t reflected properly, product statuses may not update correctly, leading to issues with visibility and ad performance.
Common Inventory Issues That Affect Product Status in Marketer
1. Products Marked as "Out of Stock" in Shopify
- If a product is out of stock, Meta and Google may stop displaying it in ads.
- Ensure inventory tracking is enabled and stock levels are updated in Shopify.
2. Inventory Not Synced Properly with Shopify
- Delays in inventory updates can cause mismatches between your store and ad platforms.
- Check your Shopify settings under Products > Inventory and ensure real-time syncing is enabled.
3. Products Set as "Unavailable" in Shopify Sales Channels
- If a product isn't available for the Facebook, Google, or Online Store sales channel, it won’t sync with Marketer.
- Go to Products > Sales Channels and Apps in Shopify and ensure the product is listed on the right channels.
4. Variants Missing Inventory Data
- If a product has multiple variants (e.g., sizes, colors) but some are out of stock, those variants may not appear in ads.
- Make sure each variant has the correct stock levels.
5. Collection Filters Excluding Products
- If your Shopify collections have specific conditions, they might exclude products, making it look like 0/0 products or less products than in reality are available in the Marketer app.
- Check collection settings in Shopify under Products > Collections to ensure all intended products are included.
What Does It Mean When My Product Status is "Unpublished"?
If a product from your store is listed as "Unpublished" when you're ordering a campaign in Marketer, it means the product isn’t fully published in your Shopify Admin.
How to Fix an Unpublished Product:
✔ Go to Shopify Admin > Products and check if the product is in Drafts. If so, click Publish.
✔ Ensure the product is marked as in stock and available in the correct sales channels.
✔ If the product is unpublished due to inventory issues, check if it's marked out of stock and update the stock levels.
Once your product is published and in stock, it will sync properly with Marketer for advertising.
How to Prevent Inventory Issues
✔ Regularly update inventory in Shopify to reflect real stock levels.
✔ Enable inventory tracking for all products and variants.
✔ Ensure all products are available in the correct sales channels (Facebook, Google, Online Store).
✔ Check product status in Marketer to confirm they are syncing correctly.
By keeping inventory accurate and ensuring collections are set up correctly, your products will remain eligible for ads and visible in the Marketer app. 🚀
