Can not connect Google to Marketer

If you're unable to connect Google to Marketer, it’s often due to missing required elements or account selection issues. Here’s what might be causing the problem and how to fix it.


Common Issues & Solutions

  • Missing Square Logo (Required for Connection to Save)


Google requires a square logo to complete the connection. If this is missing, your settings won’t save.


✔ Solution:

  • Upload a square-format logo in the connection setup when linking Google to Marketer.
  • Recommended size: 1080x1080 pixels in PNG or JPG format, but any dimensions minimum 128px and maximum 2048px, PNG- or JPG-format works.


If the logo isn’t uploaded, the connection won’t go through.


  • Unable to Select Merchant Center or Analytics in Marketer


If you can’t select your Google Merchant Center or Google Analytics account from the dropdown in Marketer, it’s likely due to an account mismatch.


✔ Fix the issue by checking:

  1. Google Account Login
    • Make sure you're logged into the correct Google account (Gmail) when connecting to Marketer.
    • This should be the same Google account used in Shopify and the Google & YouTube app.

      Verify Merchant Center & Analytics Are Linked in Shopify

    • Go to Shopify Admin > Sales Channels > Google & YouTube App.
    • Check which Merchant Center and Google Analytics account are connected.
    • Ensure these are the same ones you are trying to select in Marketer.

If different accounts are connected, either switch to the correct Google account or update the accounts in Shopify.
